Samsung Scholarship
NEW - Beginning in 2016, the Samsung Scholarship application is completely online. The online application will LOCK on Day 1 of the
ALJBS program and any application not fully submitted will be deleted. NO Documentation should be brought to ALJBS for the Samsung
Scholarship application - again this is entirely online via Legion.org and there is no PDF or paper copy to complete.
As the Samsung Scholarship is sponsored by the Samsung Corporation, we advise our applicants to choose Korean War veterans and provide the proper documentation if available; however, the basic principle is that the ALJBS delegate be a direct descendant of a wartime veteran who served on active duty during at least one of the periods of war officially designated as eligibility dates for American Legion membership.

Once on Legion.org you will need to create an account to complete the online application. Please be sure to read the FAQ document prepared by Legion HQ in Indianapolis regarding this implementation. Please direct all questions for the Samsung Scholarship to this document first before contacting Legion HQ. Do not contact the ALJBS Director or anyone else via ALJBS.org as we have no part in the online application for the Samsung Scholarship. Once all applications are submitted, the only piece that the staff of ALJBS will do is score all the completed NJ apps to determine the best candidate that will be passed on to the National competition for the scholarship money. UPDATE: In 2016, Ryan Zuzulock [Johnson City #16] of West Deptford (Gloucester County), Post #100 submitted a Samsung Scholarship application and won $20,000 for his college education! See the story featured on Legion.org - bottom line, you too could earn the next scholarship propelled by your attendance at Jersey Boys State!
