ALJBS Coronavirus Pandemic Update #2

Updated 3-25-2020 12:00pm

The well-being, health, and safety of our students, staff, and everyone who supports American Legion Jersey Boys State is of the most importance to us. Currently, we are continuing to plan for our 75th annual session to take place, as scheduled, on June 21-26, 2020. We are working with public health officials, the State of New Jersey, the American Legion, and Rider University to closely monitor how the coronavirus pandemic could affect our program.

Our online system is open and accepting applications for this year's session. In accordance with the advice of public health experts regarding social distancing, we recommend that any interviews are conducted via phone call or other teleconferencing applications and not in-person. In the coming months, we have several in-person county orientation meetings planned for our students to learn more about the program. The status of these in-person meetings is unchanged, though we will make a final decision on their status by April 15. Please monitor our website (www.aljbs.org) for the most up-to-date information regarding the status of these in-person meetings and the 2020 session of American Legion Jersey Boys State.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation as we continue to monitor the coronavirus pandemic and how it could affect American Legion Jersey Boys State.

Sincerely,
David S. Bagatelle
Executive Director
American Legion Jersey Boys State

Theodore J. Howarth, Jr.
President
