IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

posted May 20, 2021

Effective May 15, 2021, barring any unforeseen circumstances, The American Legion Jersey Boys State staff is pleased to announce that we will be having an in-person 2021 session, our 75th annual session, to be held June 20-25, 2021 at Rider University..

Our 2021 session will be a "joint session" with both seniors selected to be 2020 delegates and juniors selected as 2021 delegates. We have addressed many of your questions regarding our plans via our FAQ document.

This decision was made after consulting with State, County and Local officials, as well as representatives at our host site, Rider University. We also took into effect the latest information and guidance from the CDC as well as reviewing the latest information available regarding pandemic and vaccination trends.

The well-being, health, and safety of our delegates, staff, and everyone who supports American Legion Jersey Boys State is of the utmost importance to us in planning for this year's annual session. Therefore, we developed a comprehensive health and safety plan that covers every aspect of our week-long program from the time all staff and delegates arrive on campus until the time of departure the following Friday. ALJBS COVID Protocols can be found here. Although our plan is conservative, it is subject to change. Please continue to review our website at ALJBS.org for the most up-to-date plan. This plan was developed by our public safety staff, which is comprised of public safety and health professionals, again working with our partners and within the parameters of health and safety regulations. We hope students, parents, staff, speakers, and sponsors alike can appreciate the complexity and difficulty of developing a comprehensive plan, even as the situation continues to evolve daily.

Links to CampDoc for delegates to submit their medical information will be posted soon. If delegates have already completed their application other than their medical information, a link will be emailed to them well advance of this year's session. If you have any questions about CampDoc or submitting their medical information, please send them to: our medical team.

For the most up-to-date information regarding American Legion Jersey Boys State, you should continue to refer to our website at ALJBS.org. Post and County American Legion Jersey Boys State Chairman should also go to our Legion page on ALJBS.org for the most up-to-date information pertaining to them.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation and support. Once again, the well-being, health, and safety of our delegates, staff, and everyone who supports American Legion Jersey Boys State is of the utmost importance to us. For those of you directly or indirectly affected by the virus, our thoughts are with you and your family. Please stay healthy and safe.

ALJBS 2021 Delegate Orientations

posted May 10, 2021

For the convenience of our 2021 ALJBS delegates and their parents, our traditional delegate orientation sessions held at the county level (often referred to as "COUNTY ORIENTATIONS") will be held virtually via Zoom this year. ALL DELEGATES ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ONE OF THESE ORIENTATION SESSIONS.

We will be conducting two identical virtual Zoom-based orientations for all 2021 ALJBS delegates and their parents to attend. Delegates must attend one of these sessions. These orientation sessions will be held on Sunday, May 23rd at 7:00 pm and Thursday, May 27th at 7:30 pm. We expect them to last approximately 90 minutes. A Q&A session will follow the prepared presentation at both sessions.

Sign-in information for these orientation sessions will either be posted on-line here or will be emailed to you prior to the date of the orientation sessions.

If you are unable to attend either of these sessions for some reason, please watch our recorded Orientation video here and please review information on website and our FAQ document.
