Federalist Candidate from Monroe City wins election

Governor-elect Michael Gaus of Newton (Sussex County) to be sworn in by Governor Corzine tonight

Federalist Governor-elect Michael Gaus won the office of 61st ALJBS Governor this afternoon as the week at Rider University draws nearer to its close. The highlight of the week will come tonight at 7pm in the Alumni Gymnasium when NJ Governor Jon Corzine arrives on the campus of Rider to swear in Governor Gaus. After swearing in the Governor-elect, Governor Corzine will deliver a short address and hopes to take questions from a few of the 800 delegates here at ALJBS 2006.

A junior from Newton (Sussex County, Post #491) and student at Pope John XXIII, Governor Gaus plans to stampout corruption as well as helping foster long-term ideas for progressive energy. Governor Gaus also plans to overrule Article S17-01, passed by former NJ Governor Jim McGreevey. A member of the track team, Governor Gaus is a pole vaulter; he also enjoys playing hockey.
