ALJBS preparing for 2023 session

Delegate application system expected to open on March 1


American Legion Jersey Boys State will return in 2023 for its 77th session as New Jersey's preeminent youth leadership and civics program, where over 1,000 rising juniors will join the ranks of illustrious alumni that includes Governors, US Senators, US Supreme Court Justices, and numerous executives.

Date and Location

The program will be held from June 18-23, 2023, at Rider University in Lawrenceville.

For Prospective Delegates

If you are a high school junior and live in New Jersey, you are eligible to attend ALJBS 2023. Click here to read about the application process in full, but in summary:

1. Only high school juniors from NJ are eligible to attend the American Legion Jersey Boys State program.

2. If you're sponsored by an American Legion post, you will receive information and forms about ALJBS from your local American Legion post once you're selected. You'll also receive information about the required County Orientation meetings, which cover what you can expect at ALJBS. The post-sponsored delegate registration system will open on or around March 1.

3. If you're not sponsored by an American Legion post ("self-sponsored"), you can apply through our admissions portal. The Admissions portal will open on or around March 1, but you can register now at apply.aljbs.org.
